Boxers Head to Las Vegas


    USAFA, Colo. -- The boxing team will be represented by Doug Spear, Jeb Fredrickson, Eric Bow, Ylysses Linares and Vaughn Brazil this Saturday at the UNLV Collegiate Invitational to be held at Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas beginning at 7 p.m.

    "This invitational provides us with a great opportunity for our boxers to gain experience leading into the season," said boxing head coach Eddie Weichers. "All of our boxers will compete in the lower weight divisions which is normally difficult competition to find."

    In addition to Air Force and UNLV, boxers from the University of Nevada and University of California-Berkeley are scheduled to compete.

    Following this meet, Air Force begins is Friday night boxing matches Nov. 3rd in the upper boxing room in the cadet gym. The matches are scehedule to start at 4:30 p.m. and will be held on Nov. 10 and Dec. 8 in addition to the Nov. 3 date.
