Air Force to Host Navy on Friday Night

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force boxing team will host service academy rival Navy on Friday, Oct. 5, at the Academy's Cadet Boxing Room. Head coach Eddie Weichers announced the card for the annual showdown, which is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

    139-lbs.: Will Petersen vs. Jonathan Shepherd
    156-lbs.: James Monk vs. Ben Matson
    156-lbs.: John Alora vs. Andre Moorehead
    125-lbs.: Roy Taylor vs. Richard Gonong
    170-lbs.: Chris Nelson vs. Jack Morado
    160-lbs.: Mike Leland vs. Mike Mourafetis
    175-lbs.: Justin Smith vs. Sean Hunt
    140-lbs.: Andrew Munoz vs. Antonio Roa
    116-lbs.: Drew Pineda vs. Adam Locklear

    The lineup features nine total bouts, ranging from 116 to 175 pounds. The card also boasts one NCBA national champion in Air Force's team captain Drew Pineda, who claimed his second straight title in the 112-pound weight division last spring. The lineup also features four NCBA All-Americans, including two from Air Force (Roy Taylor, Andrew Munoz) and two from Navy (Richard Gonong, Antonio Roa).

     

     

    Air Force will be stationed in the blue corner, while Navy will be in the red. Admission is free to the Falcons' showdown with the Mids.
