USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force boxing team looks to defend its team title this weekend, as it travels to Mashantucket, Conn., for the 2013 National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) Championships, which will be held at Foxwoods Resort Casino on April 4-6.
The national championship meet, which will be held at the resort's Fox Theater, will cover three days. The quarterfinal round will begin at 1 p.m., on Thursday, April 4, while the semifinal round will take place at 6 p.m., on Friday, April 5. The championship round, which will be streamed on ESPN3, will be held at 7 p.m., on Saturday, April 6. All times are Eastern.
Air Force will be represented by two-time 112-pound champion Drew Pineda, defending heavyweight champion Olawale Lawal and Michael Magtalas (119-lbs.), Roy Taylor (125-lbs.), Jacob Berggren (132), Will Petersen (139), Glenn Miltenberg (147), James Monk (156), Denis Vorobyov (165), Logan Brandt (175), Phil Mays (185) and Gytenis Borusas (195).
