Nicholas Goc Wins NCBA Regional Bout
    The Falcons' lone quarterfinal contender takes a decision.

    LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Sophomore Nicholas Goc (Clearwater Beach, Fla.) picked up a victory by decision, as the Air Force boxing team opened competition at the National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) Western Regional Championships on Thursday, March 29, in Las Vegas, Nev.

     

    Due to the draw, Goc was the Falcons' lone competitor in the first round of competition. Competing against a boxer from USC in a 139-pound quarterfinal round, Goc used strong pressure and a flurry of punches to take the judges' decision following the three rounds.

     

    Goc and eight more of his teammates will return to the ring tomorrow night (March 30) for the regional semifinals. Due to the number of competitors in certain weight classes, the Falcons' first bout of the night will be the 125-pound bout.
