Falcons Post 5-0 Record During Regional Semifinals

    RENO, Nev. - The Air Force boxing team posted a perfect 5-0 record during the semifinal round of competition at the National Collegiate Boxing Association Western Regional Championships on Friday, March 23, in Reno, Nev.

    The Falcons forced three bouts to end before the final bell, including two that were stopped in the second round. Sophomore Andrew Munoz defeated Asada of UNLV in the second round of the 132-pound contest, before junior Olawale Lawal defeated San Jose State's Osuka in the second round of the heavyweight semifinal. Senior Casey Habluetzel also won a shortened bout, as he forced the referee to stop his 165-pound bout with San Jose State's Cabata in the third round.

    Junior Glenn Miltenberg and senior Tyrus Korecki also collected victories during the semifinal round of action. Miltenberg earned a decision over San Jose State's Gomez at 147 pounds, while Korecki picked up a 165-pound win over UNLV's Burton.

    Air Force returns to action tomorrow night (March 24) for the regional finals.
