Falcons Return to Action with Friday Night Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team returned to action with nine bouts during the first Friday Night Fights of the 2018 calendar year this afternoon (Jan. 19) at the Academy’s Cadet Gym. Devon Smith was named the squad’s Boxer of the Week after claiming a victory at 159 pounds.

Smith earned the team’s weekly award after earning a 159-pound victory over William Ragland.

Cenada Clifton-Smith, Neptally Trujillo and Harley Morgan all captured wins in the 175-pound weight division, with Clifton-Smith (vs Isaiah Honable) and Trujillo (vs Elijah Calloway) earning decisions and Morgan collecting a win when the referee stopped his bout with Kyle Partman in the third round.

Justin Couty decisioned Apiluck Kongsomboonvech in a 148-pound bout, while Levi Rate earned a 153-pound decision over Dillon Willis and Jose Rubio captured the judges’ vote over William Winstead at 155 pounds. Naji Bseiso won his 171-pound contest with Levi Knox and Austin Dreyer capped the night with a 192-pound win over Nick Pingel.
