Highlighted by a mix of veteran talent and promising prospects, the Air Force boxing team kicked off the home portion of its season this evening (Nov. 20) with the inaugural Thursday Night Throwdown event at the Academy's newly-renovated Cadet Boxing Room.
After competing in a temporary facility for the past year due to renovations taking place within the Cadet Gym Boxing Room, the Air Force boxing team returns home this week (Nov. 20) to rededicate the Boxing Room with the first of five Thursday Night Throwdown events.
Senior Brandon Pitts claimed a 185-pound victory this evening (Oct. 31), as the Air Force boxing team wrapped up competition against service academy rival Army in West Point. Pitts, who earned the Academy's Boxer of the Night award, was the Falcons' lone champion at Army's Arvin Gym.
Backed by four individual victories, the Air Force boxing team finished first at the Chuck Davey Classic this evening (Oct. 24) in Detroit. Claiming a 4-2 overall record at the annual service academy showcase, the Falcons easily defeated its counterparts from Army (2-3) and Navy (2-3).
