Air Force senior men’s basketball player Ryan Manning spent part of his summer at Whiteman Air Force Base, MO, participating in the Operational Air Force program. The program was designed to provide USAFA cadets with real-life exposure of different Air Force specialties. During his time at Whiteman AFB, Manning shadowed contracting, intelligence, logistical, financial and public affairs officers. He also had the opportunity to receive incentive rides in both Blackhawk and T-38 aircraft.
Manning, originally from Sacramento, CA, averaged 6.3 points per game last season. He scored a career-high 23 points in a career-best 40 minutes to lead Air Force at San Jose State Feb. 18. Manning started for the first time last season.
