Air Force Men’s Basketball Announces 2018-19 Schedule

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men’s basketball has released its 2018-19 schedule, announced today by head coach Dave Pilipovich. The 30-game schedule features non-conference home games against Colorado, Denver, Army West Point and Missouri State. The Falcons also participate in the Bimini Jam in Bimini, Bahamas and play a road game at NCAA runner-up Michigan.

Air Force has 16 home dates, which includes the exhibition game on Nov. 1 vs. Western State. The Falcons open the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 6, hosting Johnson & Wales University.

Air Force takes part in the Bimini Jam, Nov. 16-19, playing a total of three games in four days against NCAA participant UMBC in addition to High Point and South Dakota.

The Falcons host Colorado on Nov. 24 and then Missouri State on Nov. 28 as part of the annual Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge.

Air Force opens December hosting in-state rival Denver on Dec. 5 and then a service academy game against Army West Point on Dec. 8. The Falcons play road games in December at Pacific (Dec 1.) and Michigan (Dec. 22), who is coming off a loss to Villanova in the NCAA Championship Tournament final. The Falcons conclude the non-conference slate hosting UC Riverside on Dec. 28.

The Falcons open the 18-game Mountain West season on Jan. 2, hosting border-rival New Mexico. The Falcons host January home games against San Diego State (Jan. 12), UNLV (Jan. 16) and Boise State (Jan. 23).

In February, Air Force hosts in-state rival Colorado State (Feb. 2), border rival Wyoming (Feb. 6), and Utah State (Feb. 16) and San Jose State (Feb. 23). The Falcons host senior night on March 5 against 2017-18 conference champion and NCAA Sweet-16 participant Nevada.

League play will determine the seeding for the 2019 MW Men’s Basketball Championship, which will be held March 13-16 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Select conference game dates may slide from the traditional Wednesday and Saturday games to Tuesday or Sunday depending on national television broadcast. The Mountain West national television partners CBS Sports Network and ESPN are expected to select games and announce by the middle of August. Regional partner AT&T SportsNet and the Mountain West Network on STADIUM will begin their picks after the national television lineup has been announced.

Game times will be set once all broadcast networks finalize their selections.

Additionally, the Conference announced the format and game times for the 2019 MW Men’s Basketball Championship. The 10-game tournament begins on Wednesday, March 13 with three first-round games. The men’s quarterfinals are set for Thursday, March 14 with semifinal play on Friday, March 15. The tournament will conclude with the men’s championship game on Saturday, March 16 at 3 p.m. PT.
