Falcons Welcome Eight Newcomers to Men's Hoops Program

    Air Force men's basketball coach Jeff Reynolds has announced the eight players that comprise the Falcons' incoming class of freshmen for the 2010-11 season. The group includes six players from the USAFA Prep School and two direct entries.

    Averaged 9.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in 28 contests for the USAFA Prep School … shot a team-high 56.9 percent (103-181) from the field and 80.3 percent (49-61) from the free-throw line … tied for fourth on the team with 47 assists … second on the squad with 36 steals ... played basketball, football and ran track in high school … averaged 10 points, five rebounds and three assists per game as a senior … selected to all-district team.

    Averaged 4.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in 27 contests for the USAFA Prep School … shot 47.6 percent (49-103) from the field … first-team all-district selection as a senior at Clark High School … averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.

    Two-time all-district selection in high school … finished second on the team in scoring as a senior at 12 ppg … led team in three-point shooting … named newcomer of the year … participated in the Houston Area Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.

    Averaged 8.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 30 contests for the USAFA Prep School … one of only two players to play all 30 games … shot 43.6 percent (75-172) from the field … second on the team with 39 three-pointers … shot 39-for-100 (39 percent) from three-point range … led the team by shooting 87.7 percent (64-73) from the free-throw line … also led the squad with 77 assists ... three-time first-team all-league selection in high school … played in the Battle of the Valley all-star game following his senior season … helped team to sectional championship as a junior.

    Played in 29 of the 30 games last season for the USAFA Prep School … averaged 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game … shot 49.2 percent (60-122) from the field … named second-team all-CIF as a senior at Ayala High School … played in the Inland Empire Classic all-star game … led team in scoring (17.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.8 rpg) as a senior … also led squad in steals and blocks … two-time team MVP and team captain.

    Four-year letterwinner in high school … played two years at Montgomery High School and two at St. Thomas … all-district selection as a sophomore … led St. Thomas to a district championship and was a second-team all-state pick as a junior … averaged 13 points and 11 rebounds that season … led team to 25-13 regular season record as a senior and spot in the TAPS 5A playoffs.

     

     

    Ethan Michael

    Position: Forward

    High School: Toledo Christian HS

    Averaged 11.3 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game in 30 contests for the USAFA Prep School … one of only two players to play all 30 games … second on the team by shooting 56.1 percent (133-237) from the field … second on the team with 60 assists … third with 32 steals ... two-time league player of the year in high school … second-team all-state selection as a senior … played in the Nancy Rehm Border Wars Classic, pitting players from northeast Indiana vs. northwest Ohio.

     

     

    DeShawn Williams

    Position: Guard

    Averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in 28 contests for the USAFA Prep School … finished third on the team with 56 assists … shot 45 percent (59-131) from the field ... named Eastern District Player of the Year and second-team All-Tidewater as a senior at Norcom High School … helped team to three consecutive Eastern District tournament titles … averaged 19 points, four assists and three steals as a senior … started all four years in high school and was a three-time team captain.
