Hayden Graham, a 2017 Air Force Academy graduate, completed a pre-draft tryout with the Denver Nuggets on June 15. Graham was one of six players that took part in the workout, which included Canyon Barry of Florida, Kamari Murphy of Miami, Fla., Jonathan Motley of Baylor, Kobi Simmons of Arizona and Nigel Williams-Goss of Gonzaga.
Graham earned the team’s most valuable player award for the second straight season in 2016-17. He led the Falcons in scoring (12.6) and rebounding (5.8) for the second straight year to become the first player in 34 years to accomplish it. Graham also became the 24th player in school history to surpass the 1,000-point mark for his career. He also became the eighth player in school history to score 1,000 points and grab 500 rebounds. Graham closed his career ranked 14th in scoring with 1,113 points.
Air Force ended the season 12-21 overall and finished 10th in the Mountain West with a 4-14 mark. The Falcons defeated Wyoming, 83-68, in the opening round of the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas which is just the fourth win by the Falcons in the championships. The Falcons opened the game with a Mountain West tournament record 25-0 run.
