Falcons Host Boise State on Saturday
The Air Force men's basketball team returns home to take on the Boise State Broncos on Saturday, Jan. 19. Tip-off at Clune Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m. Air Force fell to 9-6 and 1-2 in the Mountain West after dropping a 79-40 decision to Colorado State Wednesday in Fort Collins, Colo. Boise State fell to 13-3 and 1-1 in the MW with a 79-74 loss in overtime to #19/21 New Mexico at home on Wednesday.
Third Straight 13-3 Opponent For Air Force
Boise State will be the third consecutive opponent with a 13-3 record entering the contest against the Falcons. UNLV and Colorado State were also 13-3 entering each of the last two games.
Air Force Still With Only Two Wins Against Ranked Teams
With its 76-71 overtime loss at #24/19 UNLV last Saturday, Air Force fell to 2-78 against ranked opponents in program history. It was the third ranked team Air Force lost to this season, including a 78-61 loss to #14/11 Florida on Dec. 29 and an 89-74 decision at 23rd-ranked Colorado on Nov. 25. The two victories in program history came against No. 21 UTEP (75-72) on Feb. 15, 1992 and No. 13 San Diego State (58-56) on Feb. 18, 2012.
70 Points Seems to be the Key
Air Force is 7-2 this season when it scores 70 points or more and 2-4 when scoring less than 70. The two wins are against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (65-49) and UC Riverside (61-53).
Defensively speaking, the Falcons are a perfect 8-0 when allowing 70 points or less and 1-6 when allowing more than 70. The only victory was an 86-72 triumph over Montana State.
All Six Losses to Winning Teams
The six teams that have defeated Air Force this season have a combined 79-23 record (.775 winning percentage). Wichita State is 16-2, Colorado is 11-6, Florida is 12-2, Richmond is 11-7, UNLV is 15-3 and Colorado State is 14-3. Colorado, Florida and UNLV were ranked at the time Air Force played them and Wichita State entered the Top 25 the week after defeating the Falcons.

The Falcons play their final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, Jan. 23 against the New Orleans Privateers at Clune Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Michael Lyons Moves Into Top 10 on Career Scoring List
Senior Michael Lyons moved into ninth place on Air Force's career scoring list with 19 points against Richmond on Jan. 2. Lyons has 1,262 career points.
Still a Solid Record at Clune
Including their 6-1 record this season, the Falcons have been hard to beat at Clune Arena the last nine-plus seasons. Since the beginning of the 2003-04 season, Air Force has won 111 of its 148 home games, good for a .750 winning percentage. In addition, the Falcons have won 42 of their 72 Mountain West games at Clune during that same stretch (.583 pct).
