Air Force Tops Dartmouth, 63-41

    Dec. 28, 2008

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -Anwar Johnson scored 14 points as Air Force defeated Dartmouth 63-41 in the consolation game of the Golden Bear Classic on Sunday.

Dartmouth set a tournament record for fewest points scored in a game, just one day after Air Force set the mark in a 43-42 first-round loss to Portland.

Air Force (9-3) used its smothering matchup-zone defense to build a commanding 29-12 halftime lead. Dartmouth (2-8) shot 11.5 percent from the field in the half, making just 3 of 26 shots.

Dartmouth's Alex Barnett, who entered the game averaging 20.7 points per game, scored a team-high 14. But he missed all five of his field-goal attempts in the first half and scored just four points.

Evan Washington added 11 points for Air Force, while Andrew Henke and Matt Holland scored 10 apiece.
