Tevin Foster and Jalon Friday scored 14 points each to lead Abilene Christian past Air Force, 62-58, in a non-conference game Wednesday night in Clune Arena at the Academy.

Abilene Christian, who led 27-24 at the half, opened the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 39-26 lead with 16:19 to play. The Wildcats pushed the lead to as many as 17 points, 47-30, with 13:23 remaining. Air Force got as close as two points on a Lavelle Scottie basket with 11 seconds left to make it 60-58, but Friday hit two free throws with 9.3 seconds left to provide the winning margin.

ACU shot 42.6 percent from the field, but hit 52.2 percent in the second half on 12 of 23 shooting. Payten Ricks added 11 points while Jaren Lewis chipped in with eight points and six rebounds, none bigger than on offensive rebound off a missed free throw with 24 seconds left and ACU up by four.

Air Force hit 49.0 percent from the field, but had season lows of three made 3-pointers and 16.7 percent from beyond the arc on 3-18 shooting. The Falcons out-rebounded ACU, 33-24, but had a season-high 20 turnovers.

Trevor Lyons scored 13 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Falcons. Scottie added 12 points while freshman Keaton Van Soelen chipped in with a career-best eight points. Ryan Swan added eight points, five rebounds and a career-best three assists.

The Falcons fall to 5-4 overall while Abilene Christian improved to 6-3. The Falcons travel to Riverside, Calif., tomorrow to take on UC Riverside on Friday at 7 p.m. PT.
