Falcons Fall to Missouri State, 58-48

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP)--Kyle Weems scored 19 points Saturday night to lead Missouri State to a 58-48 win over the Air Force Academy.

    The win was Missouri State's seventh straight to start the season.

    The teams were tied at 34 with 16:04 left when Missouri State went on a 14-4 run that included five points by Adam Leonard and four from Jermaine Mallett to take a 48-38 lead with 8:46 left.

    Air Force (4-2), meanwhile, made just two field goals in an 8:13 span to allow Missouri State to pull away.

    Grant Parker led Air Force with 15 points and Evan Washington finished with 14.

    Missouri State had an 11-point lead early in the first half, but Air Force came back to take a 28-27 halftime lead.

    Neither team shot well as Air Force finished hitting 39.4 percent from the field on 13-for-33 shooting while Missouri State hit 37.5 percent (18-for-48). The Bears were more successful from behind the 3-point line, hitting 41.7 percent (10-for-24).

    Weems scored 11 points in the first half and had six rebounds. Leonard finished with 16 for Missouri State and was 4-for-11 from the 3-point line.
