Terry Allen and Kendall Anthony scored 19 points apiece to lead Richmond to an 83-60 win over Air Force Wednesday night in a non-conference game at Clune Arena.
The Spiders, who never trailed in the game, used a 14-4 run over 4:21 midway through the second half to take control of the game, 60-46, with 8:44 left. Richmond later used a 16-4 spurt to take its biggest lead of the game, 80-55 with two minutes remaining. Cedrick Lindsay added 16 points and a game-high nine assists for Richmond, which played extremely efficient throughout the game. The Spiders hit 53.7 percent from the field, including a 65.5 mark in the second half, and finished the game hitting 17 of their last 25 field goals. The team also hit 10-of-18 from 3-point range, had just eight turnovers, 10 steals and 24 assists on 29 total field goals.
Air Force was led by Tre' Coggins, who scored 16 points and had three assists. Marek Olesinski added 14 points and Justin Hammonds chipped in with a season-high 12 points and a career-best nine rebounds. The Falcons shot 46.5 percent from the field and hit just four-of-13 from 3-point range. The Falcons also struggled from the free throw line, hitting just 16-of-26, and were out-rebounded 32-24. The team also had 15 turnovers.
Richmond improves to 5-2 overall this season while the Falcons fall to 3-3. Air Force hosts in-state rival Colorado on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Clune Arena.
