Air Force Falls to UNLV, 93-67

Khem Birch scored 15 points, had 14 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead UNLV past Air Force, 93-67, Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West game in Clune Arena.
The Runnin' Rebels (19-10, 10-6 MW) led from the opening basket and cruised to their second straight victory. UNLV hit 61.8 percent from the field on 34-of-55 shooting, including a 12-of-18 clip from 3-point range and out-rebounded Air Force, 45-25. The Runnin' Rebels led 51-34 at the half and pulled away early in the second half. The Falcons cut the lead to 11 points, 56-45, with 14:56 remaining, but UNLV scored 13 straight to push the lead to 69-45 with 9:54 remaining. UNLV would go on to lead by as many as 31 points from that point.
Deville Smith scored 15 points as seven UNLV players scored in double figures. Kendall Smith added 12 points, Kevin Olekaibe 11 and Roscoe Smith, Bryce DeJean-Jones and Jelan Kendrick each added 10 points. DeJean-Jones also chipped in with seven rebounds and a game-high seven assists.
Air Force (11-16, 5-11 MW) was led by Tre' Coggins, who scored 14 points. Max Yon and Zach Kocur added 11 points each and Kamryn Williams chipped in with 10. The Falcons hit just 35.9 percent from the field, including just 31 percent from 3-point range (9-29).
