Deonte Burton scored a game-high 21 points to lead four players in double figures to lead Nevada past Air Force, 75-56, Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West game in Clune Arena.
The Wolf Pack opened the game on a 10-0 run and led throughout to snap a five-game losing streak. Nevada used a 12-2 run midway through the second half to take a 57-40 lead with 9:41 remaining. They extended the lead to as many as 19 points on several occasions and never allowed Air Force to get closer than 14 points following the run.
Nevada finished the game hitting 51.9 percent from the field, including an eight-of-20 clip from 3-point land. The Wolf Pack out-rebounded Air Force, 40-31, and committed just 10 turnovers. Michael Perez added 12 points, Cole Huff 11 and Jerry Evans, Jr., chipped in with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The Wolf Pack held Air Force to 36.7 percent shooting from the field, including 20 percent (5-25) from 3-point range. Air Force hit just seven-of-15 free throws.
Tre' Coggins led Air Force with 14 points. Max Yon scored 12 points and had a team-high four assists. Yon and DeLovell Earls each had five rebounds for the Falcons, who fell to 10-15 overall and 4-10 in the MW. Nevada improved to 13-15 and 8-7.
