ALBURQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Elijah Brown scored 17 points, leading a quartet of New Mexico players to finish in double figures Wednesday as the Lobos beat Air Force 84-55, the Falcon's seventh straight loss.
Tim Williams added 16 points and 10 rebounds and seldom-used freshman guard Anthony Mathis shattered his career high with 16 points for New Mexico (12-8, 5-2 Mountain West).
The Lobos turned in their best shooting half of the season, going 17 of 23 from the field, including 6 of 8 on 3-pointers in the first half. While the Falcons matched New Mexico on 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes, it took them 14 shots to do so. And Air Force went just 3 of 12 on its other shots.
New Mexico grabbed control of the game midway through the first half behind a 25-9 run, capped by five straight Lobos 3-pointers.
