FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Travis Franklin scored 21 points and made two late free throws to help Colorado State hold off Air Force 69-66 Wednesday night.

Andy Ogide had 15 points and reserve Pierce Hornung added 13 for the Rams (14-6, 4-2 Mountain West), winners of three of four. The Rams hurt themselves with 5-of-26 3-point shooting.

Michael Lyons scored 14 points for the Falcons (11-8, 2-4). Tom Fow had 13 and Taylor Stewart 11 for Air Force, which is 1-6 on the road this season.

During a stretch of 6:08, including the final minute of the first half, Air Force held the Rams without a basket and opened up its biggest lead at 41-33. However, a 13-0 run over the next 2:20 gave the Rams the lead and momentum once again. Sophomore Greg Smith sparked the run, scoring five points and recording an assist and steal to bring the Moby Arena crowd of 4,150 to its feet.

The score for the remainder of the game was never separated by more than two possessions, with the Falcons holding their final lead of the game at 55-54 following a Fow three-pointer at the 8:45 mark.

With CSU leading by three with under a minute to play, it was Smith again, hitting a clutch basket near the CSU bench with 42 seconds on the clock to extend the Rams' lead to five. Smith finished the night with 10 points, a block and a steal.

CSU hit 5-of-7 free throws in the closing minute, and Fow missed a 50-foot heave at the buzzer.
