Blue Team Wins Game One of Falcon Baseball Blue/White Series

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball baseball opened the 2012 Blue/White Series with the Blue team taking game one 5-4 Saturday at Falcon Field. Several freshmen played key parts in the win for the the Blue team.

    Freshman right-hander Brady Weaver picked up the win for the Blue team with two scoreless innings in relief. Freshman right-hander Steven Trojan pitched four innings in the start for the Blue, allowing two runs. Another freshman, Kenny Katzman, led the way with two hits and two RBIs.

    Senior Garrett Custons added two doubles and sophomore Noah Pierce also added two hits for the Blue team. Senior right-hander Matt Zettler picked up the save.

    Junior right-hander Cameron White took the loss in the start for the White team. White pitched five innings, allowing four unearned runs. Senior Alex Bast led the White team with four hits, including a double and triple. Sophomore Brian Sicher added three hits and a triple. Freshman Zach Reks also had two hits and two RBIs for the White.

    Game two is Sunday at Falcon Field. First pitch is at 12 p.m.
