USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -The White team pounded out 22 hits to coast to a 19-7 win and 3-0 series sweep over the Blue team in the Air Force baseball Fall Blue-White series finale Monday at Falcon Field. Junior outfielder Nathan Carter hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs to lead the way for the White.
Senior outfielder Matt Alexander earned series MVP, batting .667 (6-for-9) with a homer and six RBIs in the series.
Six members of the white team had multiple hits. Carter went 4-for-5, adding a triple and a pair of doubles. Freshman Garrett Custons went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Alexander went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs.
Freshman Alex Bast also homered, going 3-for-4 on the day. Senior K.J. Randhawa went 2-for-4 and freshman Johnathan Bramble went 3-for-5 as well.
The Blue team had six hits in the game. Freshman Matt Roberts went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Freshman Travis Lane added a triple and three RBIs and freshman Andrew Austin hit a double and drove in a run.
The Falcons open the 2010 season Feb. 19 at Cal State Bakersfield.
