Game Two Of Blue-White Series Goes To White Team

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -Game two of Air Force baseball's Annual Fall Blue-White World series went to the White team, as it downed the Blue team, 4-3, Friday at Falcon Field. Junior Nathan Carter's RBI-single in the seventh inning knocked in freshman Johnathan Bramble for the go-ahead and walk-off win, giving the White team a 2-0 lead in the three-game series.

    Senior first baseman Matt Alexander and senior second baseman K.J. Randhawa and freshman outfielder Alex Bast had two hits each for the White team. Senior first baseman Addison Gentry hit a home run and freshman catcher Travis Lane went 2-for-3 to lead the way for the Blue team.

    Sophomore right-hander Mike Kazakoff picked up the win in relief with a scoreless seventh. Freshman left-hander Kincaid Koehler was tagged with the loss. Freshman right-hander Sean Carley pitched five innings in the start for the Blue team, allowing three runs and striking out two. Freshman right-hander Alex Baker pitched six innings for the White team.

    Freshman right-hander Jack Hourin also pitched a scoreless sixth inning and freshman right-hander Stephen Colangelo pitched in the seventh inning.

    Bramble singled with one out in the seventh and got to second with a stolen base. After Alexander was intentionally walked, and Colangelo was brought in, Carter laced the first pitch from Colangelo back up the middle to score Bramble.

     

     

    Game three, the series finale, takes place Monday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m.
