Falcon Baseball Begins Fall Practices

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball kicks-off its Fall season this Saturday, Sept. 22 with its first Fall practice. The Fall season will run through September and concludes Nov. 4 with an exhibition game at UNLV.

    The first Fall practice will be Saturday, Sept. 22, beginning at 10 a.m. at Falcon Field. The Falcons will play the annual the Blue-White series from Oct. 27-29. Air Force will wrap-up Fall ball on Nov. 4 in Las Vegas, taking on UNLV.

    The Falcons are coming off a 14-39 season in 2012. Air Force returns nine starters in the field and two weekend starting pitchers. Some of Air Force's top returners include Sr. C/OF Garrett Custons (.316 Avg., 4 HR, 34 runs), a two-time All-Mountain West catcher selection, Sr. OF Alex Bast (.305, 4 HR, 31 RBIs), Sr. SS Matt Thorne (.329 avg) and All-MW designated hitter Jr. 1B Seth Kline (.322, 5 HR, 21 RBIs).

    Air Force also returns weekend starters in Sr. LHP Ben Bertelson (66 K's, 64 IP) and Jr. RHP Cameron White (5.16 ERA, 63 K's, 82.0 IP) in addition to six relievers.
