Falcon Baseball Begins Fall Practices

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball kicked-off its Fall season this Monday, Sept. 12 with its first Fall practice. The Fall season will run through September and concludes Oct. 16. Air Force baseball enters year two under head coach Mike Kazlausky and are coming off a 2011 campaign with a 19-36 record. The 19 wins were the second-most Div. I wins ever by the program and the most Div. I wins by a first-year head coach. The Falcons return seven starters, including their top three hitters from last season in Jr. C/OF Garrett Custons (.333 Avg., 6 HR, 21 2B), So. OF Patrick Lobo (.328, 39 H, 23 R) and junior OF Alex Bast (.318, 21 2B, 30 RBIs). Air Force returns all three weekend starting pitchers in senior RHP Evan Abrecht (5-8, 7.09) and juniors RHP Sean Carley (3-5, 3.94) and LHP Ben Bertelson (2-7, 5.78). Fall ball highlights inclued a scrimage at Navy on Sept. 30, which coincides with the Air Force-Navy football game the following day on Oct. 1. The Falcons wrap-up the Fall slate with the Blue-White series, running Oct. 14-16. All Air Force baseball practices are open to the public.
