USAF ACADEMY, Colo.- Air Force baseball head coach Mike Kazlausky announced today the 12 members that will make up the Falcons’ class of 2016. The 12 cadets arrived for Basic Cadet Training on Thursday, June 28, marking the beginning of the four-year journey to become officers in the United States Air Force. The new cadets will start academic classes on Thursday, Aug. 9 and later join the returning members of the baseball team for fall practices.
“I am tremendously excited for our new cadets and baseball players who have decided to accept the challenge and dare to be different at the greatest school in the country-our United States Air Force Academy,” Kazlausky said. “Our institution provides one of the most challenging environments across our nation and our new players are up to the challenge. Our institution represents the best of the best and these men have made the choice to be just that. I am thrilled what they bring to the Academy in regards to their baseball skills and the ability to fill the needs in our program. More importantly, I am excited in regards to their character and their willingness to become the greatest men possible.”
The Falcon rookie class features players representing seven states, including three from Georgia and two each from California, Illinois and Washington. The Falcons also boast eight players that earned all-state honors during their high school careers.
