Falcons Travel To Portland
The Air Force baseball team travels west to take on Portand for a four game series this weekend, March 9-11. Livestats and live audio broadcast will be available for all four games.

Scouting Portland
Portland is 7-2 on the season after going 1-2 at CSU Bakersfield over the weekend and defeating Concordia on Tuesday.
- The Pilots are batting .277, have an ERA of 3.38 and are fielding .980.
- Sr. SS Kris Kauppila leads the team with a .389 average to go with two homers and eight RBIs.
- Sr. RHP Kyle Kraus (1-1, 4.42), Fr. LHP Travis Radke (2-0, 0.64), Fr. RHP Kody Watts (0-0, 3.38) and Jr. RHP Chris Johnson (1-1, 5.73) are slated to start vs. AFA.

Pitching Off To A Solid Start In 2012
Three weeks into the season, the Air Force pitching staff is off to a very solid start. The Falcons currently post a 4.30 ERA. That total is 1.76 runs a game lower after 11 games compared to last year and 5.45 runs per game lower than two years ago at the same point in the season.

Starting Pitching Also Off To A Good Start
Air Force starting pitchers are off its best start in nearly a decade. The Falcon starting pitchers currently sport a 4.00 ERA, having struck out 51 in 63.0 innings. At this same point last year, the Falcons starters had a 4.55 ERA and just two years ago had a 10.44 ERA.

White Turning Into Effective Starter
Sophomore right-hander Cameron White is developing into an effective front-line starting pitcher for Air Force. White enters the weekend with team-leading totals of a 1.77 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 20.1 innings. White has allowed just four earned runs through his first three starts.

Custons Leads MW In Hitting
Junior C/OF Garrett Custons currently leads the Mountain West Conference with a .390 batting average. Custons ranks in the MW top 10 in 11 offensive categories. He also leads the MW with five doubles and 26 total bases. In addition to his offensive numbers, Custons leads the conference with four runners thrown out attempting to steal, despite starting just 4 of 11 games this season at catcher.

The Falcons will play three games in St. Louis, Mo. next weekend, March 16-18. The Falcons take on Tennesse-Martin on Friday, host Saint Louis on Saturday and Western Illinois on Sunday.
