ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Air Force baseball dropped a 9-1 ballgame at New Mexico Friday at Isotopes Park. The loss dropped the Falcons to 14-38, 5-18 and improved the Lobos to 32-22, 17-6.
After the Falcons plated a run in the top of the first, UNM scored nine unanswered runs.
Lobo starting pitcher Josh Walker (7-2) allowed on run over seven innings to pick up the win.
The Falcons had five hits in the game. Senior Blair Roberts led the way, going 2-for-4 with a double. The Falcons had two sacrifice bunts in the game, setting a new school record with 46 sac bunts on the season.
New Mexico had 17 hits. Third baseman DJ Peterson had three hits and three RBIs. Right fielder Ryan Padilla added four hits.
The Lobos tied the game up with a run in the bottom of the first. UNM then took the lead two runs in the fourth. The Lobos tacked on a run in the sixth, four in the seventh and one more in the eighth.
Air Force wraps up the 2012 season tomorrow with game three of the series. First pitch is slated for noon.
