SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Air Force baseball fell 9-2 at San Diego State in Mountain West action Sunday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Falcons dropped to 14-35, 6-21. San Diego State improved to 26-25, 15-12.

San Diego State jumped ahead 7-0 after two innings, scoring four in the first and three in the second, to coast to the win.

Air Force scored both of its runs in the fifth inning on a two-run single by freshman right fielder Spencer Draws that scored Tyler Saleck and David Baska. The Falcons were held to five hits on the day. Peter Johnson, Matthew Roberts, Saleck and Baska also had base hits for the Falcons.

San Diego State starter Philip Walby (3-3) held the Falcons to two runs on four hits in seven innings pitched for the win.

Falcon starting pitcher Steven Trojan (3-6) faced just five batters in the game and did not record an out. Alex Baker, Todd Del Toro, Jack Hourin, Ben Yokley and Bo Wilson closed out the game in relief.

The Aztecs had 12 hits in the game. Second baseman Tim Zier went 3-for-5 with the RBIs.



Air Force returns to action Thursday, hosting UNLV for the regular season-ending series.
