Air Force Falls To #24 TCU, 10-0, Friday

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball dropped a 10-0 ballgame to #24 TCU on a rainy Friday afternoon at Falcon Field. The loss dropped the Falcons to 13-34, 5-14 and improved the Horned Frogs to 30-16, 14-5.

    TCU starting pitcher Preston Morrison (8-0) remained unbeaten on the season, allowing just two hits in eight innings. Morrison struck out seven. Closer Kaleb Merck pitched a scoreless ninth.

    Falcon starting pitcher Cameron White (3-9) took the loss in six innings pitched. White struck out three. Alex Baker, Mike Kazakoff and Ben Yokley pitched in relief.

    The Falcons were held to three hits on the day. Shortstop Matt Thorne had two hits to lead AFA. Casey Gibson also added a hit.

    TCU had 14 hits. Left fielder Jason Coats led the Frogs at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a homer, three runs and three RBIs. Designated hitter Kevin Cron also had three hits, including a three-run homer.

    TCU scored a run in the first and two in the second to jump ahead 3-0. The Frogs added three runs in the fifth and four in the eighth.

    Game two of the three-game set is tomorrow. First-pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
