USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball fell to San Diego State, 12-2, Saturday afternoon at Falcon Field. The loss snapped a five-game home winning streak and dropped the Falcons to 11-30, 4-13 and improved the Aztecs to 20-24, 9-8.
Justin Hepner (3-1) picked up the win, pitching 5.1 innings of relief. Starting pitcher Philip Walby pitched 3.2 innings, allowing one run.
San Diego State had 15 hits in the game. Designated hitter Chris Wilson went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs. Right fielder Greg Allen and Second baseman Tim Zier added three hits each for SDSU.
The Aztecs broke open a 3-1 ballgame with a four-run sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from Wilson.
San Diego State scored runs in the second and third innings to go up 2-0. The Falcons plated a run in the bottom of the third. SDSU added a run in the fifth before the big sixth inning.
The Falcons scored a run in the seventh before the Aztecs responded with a run in the eighth and four in the ninth.
Game three of the series is tomorrow at noon.
