Air Force Falls 8-4 to Nevada Friday

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball dropped a 8-4 ballgame to Nevada in Mountain West action Friday at Falcon Field. The Falcons drop to 11-28, 4-14, while the Wolf Pack improved to 20-20, 7-11.

    Falcon starting pitcher Cameron White (2-9) pitched six innings, striking out three in the loss. Jack Hourin, Dillon Freeman and Ben Yokley closed out the game in relief.

    Air Force had nine hits in the game. Catcher Garrett Custons went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for the Falcons. Designated hitter Peter Johnson added two hits and two RBIs and first baseman Seth Kline added a pair of hits.

    Wolf Pack starting pitcher Braden Shipley (6-2) pitched seven innings for the win, allowing three runs and striking out one.

    Nevada had 17 hits in the game. Catcher Ryan Teel went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

    The two teams traded run in the first. Nevada took the lead with a run in the second and added a run in the third and two in the fourth. The Falcons scored a run in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 5-2 ballgame.

     

     

    Nevada then scored three runs in the sixth inning to go up 8-2. The Falcons scored a run in the seventh and eighth innings to make it 8-4.

    Game two of the three-game series is tomorrow back at Falcon Field. First pitch is 1 p.m.
