USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball lost 11-0 to San Diego State in Mountain West action Sunday afternoon at Falcon Field. The loss dropped the Falcons to 10-23, 4-9 and improved the Aztecs to 19-17, 10-5.
San Diego State starting pitcher Ryan Doran and reliever Mike Robards combined on an eight-hit shutout. Doran (6-2) struck out nine in 8.1 innings pitched.
The Falcons committed seven errors on the day, leading to four unearned runs.
Freshman Steven Trojan (3-3) pitched five innings in the start for the Falcons. Trojan allowed just two earned runs, while striking out five. Jack Hourin, Dillon Freeman, Ben Yokley and Todd Del Toro followed up in relief.
San Diego State had 10 hits on the day. First baseman Ryan Muno went 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs.
The Aztecs broke up a scoreless game with three runs in the fourth inning. They would tack on two in the fifth and one more in the sixth to lead 6-0. San Diego State put up five more runs in the eighth.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday, hosting Northern Colorado. First pitch is 3 p.m. at Falcon Field.
