#15 TCU Downs Air Force 10-2 On Friday

    FORT WORTH, Texas - The Air Force baseball team dropped a 10-2 Mountain West Conference ballgame at #15 TCU Friday night at Lupton Stadium. The loss drops the Falcons to 11-15, 0-3, while the Horned Frogs improved to 16-9, 3-1.

    Air Force struggled against TCU starter Kyle Winkler (5-1), who surrendered just one run off four hits in seven innings, while striking out 15.

    TCU jumped ahead 5-0 before the Falcons scored a run in the fifth inning. The Frogs had 13 hits on the day, getting home runs from Brance Rivera and Jimmie Pharr.

    Falcon starting pitcher Evan Abrect (5-2) took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, in five innings. Ben Bertelson, Jack Hourin and Cameron White pitched in relief.

    Air Force had six hits on the day. Senior first baseman Parker Mayo led the way with two hits. Blair Roberts and Patrick Lobo scored for the Falcons, while Alex Bast and Matt Thorne had RBIs.

    Game two of the three-game series is tomorrow at 4 p.m. CST.
