CHARLESTON, S.C. - Air Force dropped a 4-1 baseball game at The Citadel Sunday afternoon at Riley Park. The Falcons fall to 8-17 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 14-9. Citadel head coach Fred Jordan earned his 600th career win in the game. Air Force was held to one run for the second straight game, collecting seven hits total. Jason Griggs and Brad Pingel also pitched in relief for the Falcons. Citadel starter T.J. Clarkson (1-0) picked up the win, holding the Falcons to one run in 5.2 innings. Raymond Copenhaver followed up with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief and Drew Mahaffey notched his third save in four days with a scoreless ninth. Daniel Walker led the Falcons with two hits. Addison Gentry added an RBI double and Ben Ausbun also hit a double. Nick Orvin led the Citadel with two hits. Air Force returns to action Wed., April 1, hosting the Colorado School of Mines.
