Air Force Falls To Nebraska, 8-1

    SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Air Force baseball team dropped an 8-1 ballgame to Nebraska Saturday at the Texas State Tournament at Bobcat Stadium. The Falcons fall to 1-1, while the Huskers improve to 1-1.

    The Falcons were held scoreless untill the eighth inning, while Nebraska built an 8-0 lead. Nebraska starting pither Jon Keller (1-0) held Air Force to three hits over six innings, while striking out six.

    Air Force had five hits on the day. Sophomore leftfielder Alex Bast led the Falcons at the plate, going 2-for-3. Freshman Seth Kline, making his debut for Falcon baseball, drove in AFA's lone run on the day with his first-career hit. Garrett Custons scored for the Falcons.

    Air Force starter Sean Carley (0-1) took the loss for the Falcons, allowing three runs over six innings, while striking out four. Brad Pingel, Cameron White, Mike Kazakoff and Kincaid Koehler pitched in relief for the Falcons.

    Nebraska scored a run in the second to take an early lead. The Huskers extended their lead with two runs in the fifth, three in the seventh and two in the eighth.

    Nebraska has 12 hits on the day. Kale Kiser, Cory Burleson and Chad Christensen had two hits each for the Huskers.

    The Falcons return to action Sunday with a pair of games. Air Force takes on Washington at 3 p.m. (CST) and Texas State at 7 p.m.
