NEW ORLEANS, La. - Following a strong regional finish, the Air Force men's cross country team moved up five places to 24th in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Coaches' Poll that was released this afternoon (Nov. 18).

Backed by all five scoring runners placing within the top 40, the Falcons finished fifth in the team standings at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships on Friday, Nov. 15, defeating a pair of nationally-ranked teams and earning an at-large bid into the upcoming national championship meet.

Air Force has received at least one vote in every coaches' poll this season - one of just 27 programs in the country that can make that distinction. With 80 points, the Falcons' current ranking is the squad's best since the second week of the 2005 season (21st).

The men head to Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 23, for the 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The men's 10K championship race will take place at noon on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Family Sports Center.
