INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 29th-ranked Air Force men's cross country team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, the national selection committee announced this afternoon. It will be the Falcons' first team appearance at the national meet since the 2004 season.

The men's national championship 10K race will take place at noon on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Falcons, coached by Juli Benson and ranked 29th in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll, finished fifth at yesterday's Mountain Region Championships. Air Force was one of four teams from the region to earn an at-large spot in the nation meet, joining BYU, New Mexico and Colorado State, while Northern Arizona and Colorado earned the automatic bids out of the region.

In all, 31 teams were selected to participate in both the men's and women's championship races. The top two teams from each of nine regional meets earned automatic berths to Terre Haute, while 13 additional teams were chosen by at-large selections. In addition, several individuals were selected, as the top four runners from each region not on an advancing team.
