USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - After clocking the fastest time in the conference this season at the Rim Rock Classic, Air Force junior Isaiah Bragg was named the Mountain West Runner of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday, Oct. 2. It the first career MW award for the native of West Liberty, Ohio.
The junior clocked a career-best 8K time of 24:12.8 to place 10th among 159 runners at the Rim Rock Classic on Saturday (Sept. 29), while pacing the Falcons to a third-place team finish behind host Kansas and Indiana, who was ranked 11th in the national standings. Bragg cut nearly 30 seconds off of his previous best time, en route to his second top-10 finish in as many meets.
His time is the fastest in the conference to date.
Bragg shared the men's weekly honor with New Mexico's Luke Caldwell, who finished 12th at the Notre Dame Invitational. New Mexico's Josephine Moultrie received the women's Runner of the Week award after finishing fourth at Notre Dame.
Air Force returns to action this Saturday (Oct. 6), when select members travel to Denver to compete at the Metro State Invitational at Washington Park.
