Air Force Women Take First Place at UNM Lobo Invitational

    The Air Force women's cross country team placed all five scoring runners in the top-10 to defeat New Mexico, 39-61, in the Lobo Invitational on Saturday. AFA took first place ahead of UNM (2nd), Texas Tech (3rd), New Mexico State (4th), Highlands (5th), UTEP (6th), LSU (7th), New Mexico Junior College (8th), El Paso CC (9th), ENMU (10th) and SIPI (11th).

    AFA's scoring runners included Brandess Pardue, a junior from Aurora, Colo., who led the Falcons, finishing fifth with a time of 23:06. Senior Elissa Ballas from Bay Village, Ohio finished seventh with a time of 23:15. Freshman runner Nichole Graham, Blue Springs, Mo., followed with a time of 23:17, with juniors Anne Chumlea's time of 23:28 and Kelly McPherson's 23:30.
