The Mountain West Conference released its Preseason men's and women's polls, Aug. 30. The two Air Force teams placed fourth in the polls. The men's team received 18 points, while the women's team received 38 points.

According to the MWC, "Colorado State and BYU are favored to win this year's Mountain West Conference titles in men's and women's cross country, respectively, in a vote by the league's coaches."

However, Air Force has other plans. Last year, the AFA men's team finished second and the women's team finished third in the conference.
