Cross Country Team Open 2003 with Air Force Open

    The U.S. Air Force Academy cross country team will open the 2003 season with the Air Force Open, Aug. 29, at the Santa Fe Trail. The start line is the north trailhead on the Academy. The women's race will start at 2:30 p.m. followed by the men's race at 3:00.

    Air Force is predicted to finish third in the Mountain West Conference, according the MWC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Falcons received 16 points (third) in the men's poll, while the women's poll has Air Force with 34 points (third).

    According to the MWC Poll, Brigham Young is favored to win this year's MWC championships in both men's and women's cross country in a vote by the league's coaches. The Colorado State teams were both selected to finish second in the MWC.
