USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Air Force cross country team announced its nine-meet schedule for the upcoming season this afternoon (July 11). The Falcons, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Ryan Cole, will compete in six regular-season races, as they prepare for the conference, regional and national championship meets.
Air Force opens the 2017 campaign in Fort Collins, Colo., on Friday, Sept. 1, when it competes at the annual CSU Invitational. The Falcons then travel to the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday, Sept. 16, before splitting for races at the Notre Dame Invitational (South Bend, Ind.) and the Rocky Mountain Shootout (Boulder, Colo.) over the Sept. 29-30 weekend.
The Falcons open the second month of the season at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison on Friday, Oct. 13, before hosting Colorado State in the Air Force/CSU Dual on Friday, Oct. 20.
The championship portion of the season begins for Air Force on Friday, Oct. 27, when the squad travels to Albuquerque, N.M., for the 2017 Mountain West Championships. The Falcons will then head to Logan, Utah, for the NCAA Mountain Regional on Friday, Nov. 10, while the top teams and individuals from that meet will advance to the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday, Nov. 18.
