Falcons Announce 2004 Schedule

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force cross country team released its 2004 schedule, head coach Mark Stanforth announced today (July 7). The Falcons will compete in seven meets prior to the conference, regional and national championships.

    The Falcons open the 2004 season on Sept. 3, at the Cowboy Invitational in Laramie, Wyo. Air Force will then travel to Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 18, for the Woody Greeno Invitational. The team will split the weekend of Oct. 1-2 with trips to South Bend, Ind., (Notre Dame Invitational) and Boulder, Colo., (Rocky Mountain Shootout).

    The Falcons will then travel to Hays, Kan., for the Ft. Hays Invitational on Oct. 9, before participating in the Pre-NCAA meet on Oct. 16, in Terre Haute, Ind.

    Air Force will return home to Colorado Springs to host the Air Force Open on Saturday, Oct. 23.

    The men's team will look to defend their conference title at the Mountain West Conference Championships, which will be held on Oct. 30 in San Diego, Calif. The Falcons will have some familiar surroundings at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships on Nov. 13, as MWC foe Colorado State hosts the regional competition in Fort Collins, Colo. The NCAA Championships will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 22.
