March 5, 2009
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Air Force men's cross country team earned All-Academic Team honors, the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association announced this morning (March 5). It is the sixth time in Academy history that the Falcons have earned the All-Academic Team distinction. With a combined grade-point-average of 3.050, Air Force was one of 110 men's programs to receive the honor. The Falcons were one of three men's programs in the Mountain West Conference to earn All-Academic Team status by the USTFCCCA, joining BYU and New Mexico. Air Force, which received the distinction during each of the previous two years, also earned the honor in 1995, 1996 and 1997. To be considered for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, they must have competed as a team at an NCAA regional championship meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
