Cross Country Places 10 on Academic All-MWC Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Air Force cross country team placed 10 cadet-athletes on the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, the conference office announced today (Feb. 2). Seven members of the women's team and three members of the men's team earned the league's fall honor.
The honorees from the women's team include juniors Vivien Aspden (Yucaipa, Calif.) and Andrea Pinchak (Shaker Heights, Ohio), as well as sophomores Elizabeth Catherwood (Bethesda, Md.), Margaret Frash (Newburyport, Mass.) and Ashley Snyder (Pickerington, Ohio.) Also, freshmen Kelly Robinson (Holt, Mich.) and Kristin Trichler (Santa Barbara, Calif.) made their first appearance on the all-conference academic team. Senior Brian Dumm (Fairfax, Va.) represented Air Force's men's team, as well as juniors Matt Hellier (Modesto, Calif.) and Nick Wilson (Jacksonville, Fla.). Catherwood, Snyder, Dumm and Wilson are all repeat honorees on the academic all-conference team, while the rest are making their first appearance. To be considered for the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, the student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, completed at least one academic semester and be a significant contributor on their respective teams.
