SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2015 - FRESHMAN YEAR | 2014: Did not compete.

MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Ran on the 4x800-meter relay that clocked the second-fastest time in Academy history (7:29.14) during a third-place finish at the 2015 Drake Relays...scored for the Falcons in the 800-meter run at the 2016 Mountain West Outdoor Championships (1:51.45, fifth)...also ran on the 4x400-meter relay that finished fifth at that meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Valor Christian High School...Colorado 4A state champion in the 800-meter run (1:52.66)...also set the VCHS record with that time...also placed sixth in the state meet in the 400-meter dash (48.95)...anchored the 4x400-meter relay that finished second in 3:16...won the 800-meter run during the indoor season at the Arkansas High School Indoor Invitational and Air Force High School Indoor Invitational...set a new meet record at Air Force's event (1:55.19)...finished second in that event at the Simplot Games (indoors) and Mt. SAC Relays (outdoors)...finished 10th at the New Balance Indoor National Championships with a time of 1:53.93...first-team all-state selection...lettered four years in both cross country and track.

PERSONAL: Full name is Zachary Thomas Petrie...goes by Zac...son of Tom and Lori Petrie...is an only child...majoring in management...hobbies include knitting sweaters for teammates, anything to do with freight trains, collecting Crocs, listening to 60s and 70s tunes and marching in cadence...trained by the late Tony Wells...member of Cadet Squadron 04.

And, since officially retiring from his cross country career in a press conference on Aug. 29, Zac will have his full energy invested in making his last track and field season his best track and field season."
