FRESHMAN YEAR | 2015: Participated in four meets, including the conference championships...posted a career-best 6K time of 23:15.6 at the Washington Invitational (110th)...also ran that distance at the Pre-National Invitational (23:32.1, 90th) and Mountain West Championships (28:36.0, 81st)...posted a 5K time of 20:08.1 at the Colorado State Invitational (79th).
MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Clocked the third-fastest 3000-meter steeplechase in Academy history (10:47.51)...that time is also a new Sophomore Class Record...ran on the 4x1600-meter relay that posted a program-record time of 19:34.05.

PERSONAL: Full name is Shanna Danielle Burns...daughter of Bryan and Dionne Burns...has four younger sisters...majoring in civil engineering...future plans include becoming a pilot...currently serving as an Element Leader...has earned an Athletic Pin all four semesters...named to the Superintendent's List for excellence in military, academic and athletic performance in the spring of 2017...hobbies include spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, running, hiking, swimming, biking, skiing, riding horses and relaxing on a beach...would like to add that "I run for Christ and He gives me strength"...enjoys frozen yogurt and sweet potatoes...has two horses...used to be in rodeos and horse shows when younger...completed Operation Air Force at Nellis AFB, Nev., over the summer...also took part in the Field Engineering and Readiness Laboratory (FERL), went on leave and served as cadre for the obstacle course during Basic Cadet Training...member of Cadet Squadron 03.
