    FRESHMAN (2010): Compete in four meets...opened the season with a 27th-place time of 20:31 at the Rust Buster Invitational (6000-meter course)...finished 36th at the 8K Tiger Invitational, clocking a season-best time of 25:47...finished 62nd at the Woody Greeno Invitational with a time of 26:57...placed 83rd at the Rocky Mountain Shootout with a time of 27:31.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Ennis High School...competed in track and cross country...Montana Class C cross country state champion...two-time champion in the 3200-meter run...also claimed state title in the 1600-meter run...recorded personal-best times of 4:29 in the 1600-meter run, 9:53 in the 3200-meter run and 15.30 in the three-mile run...served as student body president...class saluditorian.

    PERSONAL: Full name is Gavin Cadwalander Owens...nickname is "Queso"...son of Brett and Rita Owens...father is a retired lieutenant colonel...has one older brother, Gage, who is a junior runner at the Academy...also has two younger siblings, Madison and Race...currently undecided on a major...member of Cadet Squadron 11.
