JUNIOR (2008): Earned the team's Most Valuable Player award...also named the Falcons' most improved runner...was the team's top finisher at the Pre-Nationals Meet, the Mountain West Conference Championships and the NCAA Regional Championships...posted the team's best 6K time (21:42) at the regional championships, finishing 44th...clocked a time of 22:29 to finish 21st at the conference meet...ran a time of 22:30 at the Pre-Nationals Meet to finish 168th...also competed at the Aztec Invitational, picking up a 16th-place time of 18:28...that was the team's second-fastest 5K time of the season.

BEFORE 2008: Did not compete for cross country...was a member of the Air Force soccer team...named Rookie of the Year in 2006...joined the Air Force track and field team in January...moved into seventh on the program's all-time 10,000-meter list with a 13th-place time of 37:52.09...set the Sophomore Class record in that event.

HIGH SCHOOL: Smoky Hill High School...competed in soccer...all-state and all-conference honoree...served as team captain...traveled with the Olympic Development Program.

PERSONAL: Full name is Caitlin Marie Lynch...goes by Katie...daughter of Brian and Diane Lynch...father is a Green Beret...has three older brothers, Tim, Mike and Danny...Tim is a captain in the Army, while Danny is in the ROTC...also has two cousins - Ryan (Green Beret) and Aris (Navy Seal) - that are in the military...majoring in behavioral sciences...future plans include working as a logistics officer...would also like attend graduate school, obtain a master's degree and eventually return to the Academy to teach and coach...currently serving as the Group 4 Support/Services Officer...spent the summer as the Athletic Commander during the first session of Basic Cadet Training...has also served as LRC Superintendent, Wing Athletic NCO and as a member of PEER...named top performer during recognition and best performer during Basic Cadet Training...selected as outstanding course performer as the superintendent of LRC...named to the "500 Club" during the AFT...attended the Academy's Prep School...named Most Athletic Female and Best in Character at the prep school...hobbies include camping, hiking, fishing, running, cooking, healthy living and hanging out with family and friends...member of Cadet Squadron 38.
